‘Xiaomi 17 Pro’ Launched in Nepal with Rear Display and Triple 50MP Camera Setup

Kathmandu . Xiaomi recently unveiled the Xiaomi 17 Pro and its standard variant, Xiaomi 17, at an event held in Beijing, China. The Pro model introduces a cutting-edge feature — a secondary display built directly into the camera module. While similar phones have appeared before, this is the first time such a powerful device includes this innovation.

Key Features of Xiaomi 17 Pro

Rear Display

The phone features a 2.7-inch screen on the back, surrounding the camera module. It can display a clock, animated wallpapers, step count, and interactive elements like a virtual pet that responds to the phone’s status. The ‘AI Pin’ feature allows users to pin content like QR codes or schedules for quick access.

Design and Display

The device is 8mm thick and weighs 192 grams. It includes an in-display fingerprint sensor, UWB support, and comes in four colors: Black, Cold Smoke Purple, Forest Green, and White. The main screen is a 6.3-inch M10 LTPO AMOLED panel with a resolution of 1220 × 2656 pixels and peak brightness of 3,500 nits.

Camera

Equipped with Leica tuning, the phone boasts a triple 50MP camera setup — a primary Light Hunter 950L sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide lens, and a 50MP telephoto lens. The rear display makes it easier to take selfies using the main camera.

Performance and Battery

Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, the phone delivers top-tier performance. It houses a 6,300mAh battery, claimed to last up to two days. Charging options include 100W wired and 50W wireless support.

Software

The device runs on Android 16-based HyperOS 3, featuring AI assistants like ‘HyperIsland’ and ‘Hyper XiaoAi’. The rear screen can also show messages, delivery updates, and flight information.

Price and Availability in Nepal

In China, the 12GB/256GB variant of the Xiaomi 17 Pro starts at CNY 4,999. In Nepal, its estimated starting price is around NPR 110,000.
