Rautahat — The headmaster of Jai Kisan Secondary School, Sanjay Prasad, and middleman Arvind Prakash Sahakanu have been arrested on charges of accepting a bribe of Rs 450,000 in exchange for a teacher appointment.

According to the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA), its team apprehended the suspects red-handed after receiving information that the middleman had just received the bribe from the service seeker.

The headmaster reportedly demanded the bribe through the middleman, promising to expedite the application process for a teacher position advertised by the school.

Both suspects were arrested from a hotel located on Adalat Road in Birgunj Metropolitan City–13, Parsa, on Friday evening.

CIAA spokesperson Rajendra Kumar Paudel said that further investigations are currently underway.
