Shrestha claimed on social media that the team threatened his staff and associates while he was away, demanding immediate security assurances from local authorities and the government.

During the Jana Jagriti movement on Bhadra 23–24, Shrestha’s home and four vehicles had been vandalized and set on fire. Engineer Chiranjeevi Jha, involved in reconstruction work, also alleged threats from Gurung’s team. Staff member Mira Shrestha expressed fear over the unannounced visit.

Police and district officials confirmed that no prior notice was given, calling the entry “intimidating” and “unofficial.”

Meanwhile, Jana Jagriti’s Madhesh Province coordinator Shiv Yadav stated the visit was for a simple meeting with Shrestha, not to intimidate anyone.
