Kathmandu—Nepal Police has arrested two Indian nationals involved in a kidnapping and hostage case in Kathmandu. The suspects, identified as 24-year-old Parampreet Singh and 28-year-old Lavpreet Singh from Punjab, allegedly lured a 26-year-old man from Haryana to Nepal with promises of sending him to Australia.

According to police, the duo held the victim captive at Hotel New Jomsom in Sundhara, Kathmandu, and demanded Rs 2 million in ransom. Acting on a tip-off, police rescued the victim and arrested the suspects on Friday.

SP Pawan Kumar Bhattarai said the Kathmandu District Court has granted a seven-day extension for further investigation. Four mobile phones belonging to different companies were also seized from the suspects.
