Surkhet—The identities of the teenage boy and girl found dead in the Kakre Bihar forest of Birendranagar–9 have been confirmed, according to the Surkhet District Police Office.

The deceased have been identified as 18-year-old Naresh Khatri of Kanakasundari Rural Municipality–7, Jumla, and 16-year-old Deepika Chaudhary of Khajura, Birendranagar–10.

At around 11:20 AM today, locals who had gone to collect grass discovered both bodies lying in the forest and immediately informed the police. A team led by Inspector Rajan Bhattarai reached the scene shortly afterward.

The bodies were officially identified at 1:15 PM in the presence of police and family members. According to DSP Mohan Jung Budhathapa, Deepika was identified by her uncle, Raju Chaudhary, while Naresh was identified by his aunt, Geeta Khatri.

Police have stated that further investigation is underway to determine what led to the deaths.
