The order was issued by Justice Tek Prasad Dhungana’s bench, citing the need for balance and fairness. The restriction will remain in effect until the final verdict in the case is delivered.
The order follows a writ petition filed by Rakip Prasad Sah, challenging Yadav’s recent appointment as Chief Minister.
Madhesh Province’s government was formed under Article 168(3) of the Constitution. On Sunday, the then-provincial head, Sumitra Subedi Bhandari, appointed UML parliamentary leader Saroj Kumar Yadav as Chief Minister, allegedly bypassing other political parties.
The following morning, Bhandari administered the oath of office at Panas Hotel in Bardibas, Mahottari, citing illness as the reason for not holding it at the official venue.
However, Bhandari has since been dismissed by President Ramchandra Paudel, and the newly appointed provincial chief, Surendra Labh Karn, has already taken the oath of office.
