Police arrested Surya Thapa Magar, who confessed that he killed Ayusha on the night of Kartik 26 and disposed of her body immediately. The body was thrown near New Buspark, Tokha-9, but locals assumed it was just a pile of garbage, especially because waste had been accumulating on the roadside due to the Bancharedanda disposal obstruction.

During a community cleanup on Saturday, locals tried to move what they thought was trash—only to discover a dead body wrapped inside a blanket.

Although police initially suspected the victim to be a third-gender person, it was later confirmed to be Ayusha Magar. The investigation has revealed that the murder happened over a dispute involving just Rs 500. Surya confessed that Ayusha had borrowed Rs 500 to buy brown sugar, and when she refused to return it, he strangled her using a shoelace.

CCTV footage showed him dragging a wrapped bundle out of the hotel at 1:52 AM. Ayusha has been identified by her mother, and the police are continuing their investigation.
