Kathmandu – The Lumbini provincial government has revoked the facilities provided to former high-ranking officials a year ago. Shortly after Chief Minister Chet Narayan Acharya took office, the cabinet decided to withdraw benefits such as vehicles, fuel, maintenance, drivers, and security officers.
Following the decision, former Speaker Purna Bahadur Gharti and former Chief Minister Kul Prasad KC returned the vehicles they had been using. The move was aimed at promoting austerity during a time of financial crisis.

The government had earlier mandated that projects above NPR 5 million be implemented through competitive bidding. For the current fiscal year, the threshold has been raised to NPR 10 million. Acharya’s administration has also enforced a code of conduct for the Chief Minister and ministers.
