The government periodically forms committees to review and align public and festival holidays. Proper management is necessary to ensure productivity while still respecting traditional celebrations.

Prioritizing citizen welfare—such as health care, pensions, and social security—over excessive holidays can be more productive and respectful. Observing international practices, like those of UN agencies, where annual holidays total around 121 days, including all religious and cultural observances, Nepal could similarly restructure its holiday calendar to balance culture and productivity.

Reforms in holiday management would help preserve cultural significance while ensuring work efficiency and social–economic progress.
