Kathmandu — The government is preparing to enter formal talks with Durga Prasai, coordinator of the “National Rescue Campaign for Nation, Nationality, Religion, Culture, and Citizens.”

Prasai, who was released on Sunday following a Supreme Court order, is scheduled to meet with government representatives for discussions.

During a meeting held late Saturday night at Baluwatar, Prasai’s group agreed to suspend the nationwide bandh and strike scheduled to begin today. Both sides also agreed to hold talks on Prasai’s previously submitted 27-point demand list.

The agreement states that “the next round of talks will be held as soon as possible with the campaign leadership.” According to a member of the Prime Minister’s Secretariat, the exact date for the meeting has not yet been finalized.

The government and the campaign have agreed to continue dialogue, negotiation, and facilitation to address the 27-point demands.
