Kathmandu—Rabilakshmi Chitrakar, wife of former Prime Minister Jhalnath Khanal, lost her left hand following serious injuries sustained during a fire and vandalism at her residence on Bhadra 24. Hospital sources at Burn Hospital, Kirtipur, confirmed that her left hand was amputated during surgery based on medical advice.

Family sources said, “Antibiotics were being administered through the left hand. During treatment, doctors recommended amputation to save her life.” Post-surgery, she has been moved to the ward, and her condition is reported to be improving.
