During a meeting with all ministers and secretaries at the Prime Minister’s and Cabinet of Ministers’ Office on Monday, she emphasized that citizens should directly experience noticeable improvements through these initiatives. PM Karki urged staff to leverage their knowledge, skills, and experience to fulfill their duties responsibly under a permanent government structure.
She also instructed ministries to maintain fiscal discipline, use public funds effectively, and engage with the private sector to improve the industrial environment.
Additionally, PM Karki called for the immediate preparation of damage reports for structures affected during recent protests, followed by reconstruction plans and annual workplan reviews. “Move beyond traditional methods and establish new standards,” she said.
The PM stressed that civil service promotion and transfer systems should be transparent, fair, and predictable. Unnecessary structures should be abolished, merged, or transferred to make public administration more efficient and productive.
