Kathmandu—Prime Minister Sushila Karki has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Nepali student Bipin Joshi, offering heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Prime Minister prayed for the eternal peace of Joshi’s soul, saying, “The nation will never forget his sacrifice and bravery.”

PM Karki said she was deeply shocked by the news, which came after two years of collective prayers and hope for his safe release from captivity. “This heartbreaking news has caused profound grief to us all. I extend my deepest condolences to his bereaved family and relatives during this painful time,” she added.
Describing Joshi as not just a student but a bright representative of thousands of Nepali youths studying abroad, the prime minister said his life reflected enthusiasm, dedication, and compassion. “We had hoped he would return safely and contribute to Nepal’s development,” she said.
Karki also lamented that Joshi, a peace-loving Nepali youth, became a victim of an inhuman international conflict, adding, “The government and the entire Nepali people had been praying for his safe release. This tragic news has shattered our hopes and dreams built over the past two years.”
Highlighting Joshi’s courage, bravery, and sacrifice in saving the lives of several friends during his final moments before captivity, she said, “His heroic act will remain his greatest legacy, forever symbolizing the pride and spirit of Nepal.”
