Kathmandu: Police have arrested a rape convict who had escaped from jail during the Gen-Z protest on Bhadra 24.

The arrested individual has been identified as 60-year-old Prakash Panchkoti, a resident of Dharmadevi Municipality–6, Sankhuwasabha. A police team from the Kapan Police Post apprehended him on Friday at Milan Chowk, Kapan.

Panchkoti had escaped from the Central Jail in Sundhara amid the chaos during the protest. Police said preparations are underway to return him to prison custody.
