Kathmandu—Prime Minister Sushila Karki, appointed by President Ram Chandra Paudel after the Gen-Z movement, is preparing to form an 11-member cabinet. So far, only 3 ministers have been appointed.

On Monday, three newly appointed ministers took the oath of office, bringing the cabinet size to four. Rameshwar Khanal has taken charge of Finance, while Kulman Ghising has been assigned to Energy, Water Resources, and Irrigation. Additionally, Om Prakash Aryal has been assigned to Home Affairs, as well as Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs.

Karki is still in consultation to appoint the remaining 7 ministers. She had approached senior ophthalmologist Dr. Sanduk Ruit, but he declined the offer. For the Education Ministry, names such as Kedar Bhakta Mathema and Vidya Nath Koirala are being discussed. For Health, Dr. Bhagwan Koirala, Dr. Ramesh Koirala, and Dr. Bhola Rijal are under consideration.

She plans to ensure representation from the Gen-Z movement, Congress, UML, Maoist Center, and other stakeholders in the expanded cabinet.
