Kathmandu—Prime Minister Sushila Karki, appointed on 27 Bhadra, has expanded her cabinet for the second time. She had previously expanded it on 30 Bhadra, appointing Kulman Ghising, Om Prakash Aryal, and Rameshwor Khanal.

Today (Monday), four additional ministers took the oath of office and secrecy.

Meanwhile, PM Karki has retained responsibility for nine ministries, including Foreign Affairs and Defense. The portfolios of two previously appointed ministers, Rameshwor Khanal and Om Prakash Aryal, have also been adjusted.

Finance Minister Khanal has been assigned additional responsibility for the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration, while Home Minister Aryal’s responsibility for the Ministry of Law has been removed; he now oversees only the Home Ministry. The Ministry of Law has been assigned to the newly appointed Anil Kumar Sinha.

The cabinet currently consists of eight members.
