Kathmandu — Following a drop in petroleum prices from India, Nepal Oil Corporation has decided to reduce the price of petrol.
Effective from midnight tonight, the corporation announced a reduction of NPR 2 per liter in petrol prices. However, the prices of diesel and kerosene will remain unchanged.
New Petrol Prices by Region:
– In Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Dipayal: NPR 159 per liter (previously NPR 161)
– In second-tier cities like Surkhet and Dang: NPR 158 per liter
– In first-tier cities including Charali, Biratnagar, and Janakpur: NPR 156.50 per liter
Earlier, the corporation had kept fuel prices stable during the festive season. On September 15 and 30, Indian Oil Corporation had increased petrol prices by NPR 2.29 and NPR 0.24 respectively. Diesel prices had also risen by NPR 3.46 and NPR 2.35 on those dates. Fuel price adjustments continue to reflect international trends and regional supply dynamics.
