Kathmandu—In the NPL opening match, Kathmandu Gorkhas defeated Janakpur Bolts by 5 wickets. Losing the toss, Janakpur batted first and set a target of 131, which Kathmandu chased in 18 overs for the loss of 5 wickets.
Ben Charlesworth scored 46, Akash Tripathi 39, Milind Kumar 19, and Jon Simpson 13 for Kathmandu. Milind Kumar also took 3 wickets, while Santosh Yadav, Sahbal Alam, and Karna KC claimed one wicket each.
For Janakpur, Asif Sheikh top-scored with 54. Kishor Mahto, Anil Sah, Lalit Rajbanshi, Nicole Lofty Eaton, and Sanjay Krishnamurthy took one wicket each.
