Kathmandu – The complaint against former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and former Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak regarding the Gen Z protests on Bhadra 23–24 has been declared outside the jurisdiction of the inquiry commission.
Commission spokesperson Vijnan Raj Sharma stated in a press release that the commission’s mandate is limited to investigating the factual circumstances of property and human damage, determining causes, and submitting recommendations. Criminal prosecution of offenders falls outside the commission’s authority.

The commission returned the complaint to Kathmandu District Police, which had earlier forwarded it to the high-level inquiry commission led by former Justice Gauribahadur Karki.
The Gen Z protests involved violent activities, and political debate continues over the investigation.
