Nepal has officially released newly printed Rs 100 banknotes in circulation starting today (Thursday). Nepal Rastra Bank announced that the notes—from serial number ‘Ka/20–000001’ to ‘Gha/40–999999’—have now entered the market with the same size and color as before.

This is the continuation of the series first issued in 2019.
The new note features Mt. Everest on the left, a rhododendron watermark on the right, Nepal’s map at the center, and the Ashoka Pillar with the text “LUMBINI THE BIRTHPLACE OF LORD BUDDHA.” A tactile black dot has also been added for visually impaired users.
It includes a 2 mm color-changing security thread, the signature of then-Governor Maha Prasad Adhikari, and the serial year marked as 2081 B.S.
The backside displays “NEPAL RASTRA BANK,” an image of a one-horned rhinoceros with its calf, and the serial year 2024 A.D.
