Kathmandu—A shocking incident has surfaced in Brindaban-9, Bhusaha of Rautahat, where the body of a 25-year-old woman was found buried inside her home. Tarima Khatun, wife of Sheikh Adil, was reportedly murdered on Monday night and buried in a pit used for storing straw. Police discovered the body on Tuesday morning.

A joint team from the Garuda Area Police Office and the Rautahat District Police Office found the body buried in a dug-out space. Police reported deep injuries on her right leg and marks suggesting the use of a sharp weapon on her head. A knife was recovered from the scene.

Her husband, Sheikh Adil, is currently in Saudi Arabia for foreign employment. After the murder, her father-in-law, Sheikh Ali Mohammad, and other family members fled the house, taking Khatun’s 1.5-year-old child, Mohammad Arif, with them.

The body has been sent to Chandranigahapur Hospital for post-mortem. Police have intensified the search for the absconding family members, and further investigation is underway.
