Mother Throws 3-Year-Old Daughter Into Lake After Lover’s Taunts

Ajmer — A chilling crime has shaken Rajasthan’s Ajmer after a 28-year-old woman, identified as Anjali (also known as Priya), confessed to killing her own three-year-old daughter by throwing her into Ana Sagar Lake.

According to police, Anjali, originally from Varanasi, had separated from her husband and was living in Ajmer with her live-in partner, Alakesh. On Tuesday night, she sang a lullaby to her daughter, then took her to the lake under the pretext of an evening stroll. She then pushed the child into the water before staging a drama, claiming the girl had suddenly gone missing.

CCTV footage contradicted her claims. It showed Anjali carrying the child near the lake, but later, around 1:30 AM, she was spotted alone, busy on her mobile phone. The following morning, the child’s body was recovered from the lake. During interrogation, Anjali broke down and confessed.

She told police that Alakesh often mocked her about her daughter, which caused her stress and pushed her into committing the crime.

Police have arrested Anjali on murder charges. Investigations are underway to determine whether Alakesh had any role in the crime.
