Kavrepalanchok – Police have arrested 10 individuals accused of looting during the recent Gen Z protests. According to the District Police Office, the suspects were found with weapons and ammunition stolen from the police station on Bhadra 24.

Among those arrested is Santosh Shrestha (34), a resident of Mandandeupur–7, currently living in Banepa–9. Police recovered a pistol and 36 rounds of ammunition from him.

Other suspects include Sijan Suwal (26), Subas Gautam (28), an 18-year-old teenager, and a 15-year-old child from the same ward, who were arrested along with 730 rounds of ammunition.

Additional arrests include Timothy Tamang (21) from Timal–2, Kavrepalanchok, Achut Khadka (34) from Panauti–10, Mahesh Mukhiya (20) from Bara, and Sushant Lo (24) from Bakaiya–6, Makwanpur.

Ramesh Tamang from Dhulikhel–1 was also arrested. He is accused of participating in the protests with weapons, looting from the Banepa police station, and posting videos on TikTok.

Police Chief Superintendent Komal Shah stated that further investigation is underway regarding the seized weapons and ammunition. During this period, police also apprehended 37 prisoners who had escaped from various jails in Kavrepalanchok.
