According to sources, the party will likely be named Nepal Jansewa Party, with the electric bulb (light bulb) as its election symbol.

The new party is expected to bring together Kulman Ghising, the Sudan Gurung faction, Kathmandu Mayor Balen Shah’s secretariat, and the United Identity Front, which represents eight different identity-based groups.

Former RSP leader Sumana Shrestha is also in discussion to join, though her participation will be finalized after a decisive meeting scheduled for Sunday evening. “There’s a high chance Sumana will join, but a few disagreements remain. Everything will be finalized after tonight’s talks,” a source said.

Earlier, Ghising had proposed naming the party Ujyalo Nepal Party, but Gen Z leaders Balen Shah and Sumana Shrestha opposed the name, leading to delays in consensus.

The source further informed that the Nepal Jansewa Party plans to visit the Election Commission on Monday for official registration. “We are ready to register on Monday, no matter what,” a party insider said.

If leadership disagreements arise, an interim coordinator may be appointed, though Kulman Ghising is currently expected to lead.
