Kathmandu—Bindeshwar Yadav, the Ward Chair of Mithila Bihari Municipality-9 in Dhanusha, was shot dead on Friday evening around 6 PM by unidentified attackers.
Eyewitnesses report that the assailants fled immediately after the shooting. Yadav was taken to Janakpur Provincial Hospital for treatment, where he was declared dead, according to the Dhanusha District Police Office.
He was an independently elected ward chair.
