IGP’s Resignation: What’s the Truth? Police Finally Speak Out (With Statement)

Kathmandu — The Nepal Police has clarified that Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chandra Kuber Khapung made no statements regarding the possible arrest of former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and former Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak.

The clarification came after several media outlets reported that IGP Khapung had allegedly warned of resigning if pressured to arrest the two leaders.

In an official statement released on Friday, the Nepal Police stated that the IGP’s meetings with the Prime Minister and Home Minister focused solely on law and order and current security challenges, rather than on political issues.
