Hyderabad — Among the 42 Indian nationals killed in a tragic bus accident near Madina, Saudi Arabia, 18 were members of a single Hyderabad family spanning three generations, including nine children. They had traveled for Umrah and were returning when the accident occurred at around 1:30 AM.
The bus collided with a diesel tanker about 30 km from Madina, and a fire engulfed the vehicle before passengers could escape. The victims include 70-year-old Naseeruddin, his wife Akhtar Begum, their children, and their grandchildren.
Relatives in Hyderabad are devastated, saying an entire family has been wiped out.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed deep sorrow and extended condolences. The Indian Consulate in Jeddah has set up a 24×7 control room and helpline. Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy assured support for the affected families.
