Kathmandu- Ravilakshmi Chitrakar, wife of former Prime Minister Jhalnath Khanal, who was severely injured when her house caught fire during the Gen-Z protest, is reportedly showing signs of recovery, according to doctors overseeing her treatment.
Chitrakar is being treated at the ICU of Kirtipur Hospital, with serious burns to her left hand and complications in her lungs due to inhalation of harmful gases. Burn specialist Dr. Kiran Nakarmi stated that her condition has improved compared to when she arrived at the hospital and that surgery on her left hand is scheduled for today.
Former PM Khanal said, “Her lungs were exposed to harmful gases, and her left hand suffered severe burns. Doctors are providing specialized care.” He condemned the act as a planned and inhumane crime and demanded strict punishment for those involved.
Khanal also confirmed that evidence of the break-in, arson, and looting at his home has been collected and will be made public soon.
