Kathmandu — Former Nepal Police Additional Inspector General (AIG) Bishwaraj Pokharel has joined the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP). He was welcomed by acting president DP Aryal at the party office in Bansthali on Friday.

Pokharel, who resigned from the police on Shrawan 2, 2079, after serving as AIG since Mangsir 25, 2077, said he joined RSP to fight against the injustice done to Chairman Rabi Lamichhane.
He emphasized that after 29 years of honest service in the police, he will speak without fear and strengthen the party with committed and sincere individuals. Pokharel also highlighted that during the Gen Z movement on Bhadra 24, while old party leaders hesitated, Lamichhane was carried forward by the people’s support.
