Kathmandu — Nepali student Bipin Joshi, who had been abducted by Hamas, was killed nearly two years ago, according to a DNA test conducted at an Israeli military hospital.
Sources at the Nepali Embassy in Israel confirmed that the DNA matched Joshi’s body, which Hamas handed over through the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).
“The DNA test confirmed the body belongs to Bipin Joshi. The report shows it was not a natural death but a murder,” the source told Onlinekhabar.

The embassy has not yet made an official statement, and officials at Nepal’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said they have not been formally notified. However, sources said Prime Minister Sushila Karki, who is currently overseeing the Foreign Ministry, will make the report public after receiving the official confirmation.
Joshi, a student from Kanchanpur, was abducted by Hamas during its attack on an Israeli kibbutz on October 7, 2023. Ten Nepali students were killed in the same incident.
After the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, the militant group handed over Joshi’s body to Israeli forces on Tuesday morning.
