Kathmandu—Police have arrested an escaped inmate from Sundhara Central Jail in Kathmandu.

The arrested man has been identified as 38-year-old Prem Bishwakarma of Morang district. He was apprehended by a team from the Gaushala Police Circle.

Bishwakarma had escaped from the Sundhara Central Jail on Bhadra 24 during the Gen-Z protests when rioters stormed the facility. According to police, he had been sentenced to 25 years in prison by the court and had already served five years.

Authorities confirmed that Bishwakarma was arrested on Thursday and has since been handed back to the prison administration.
