Kathmandu: Education, Science, and Technology Minister Mahabir Pun has directed that every community school across Nepal must have at least one compulsory computer teacher.

On Tuesday, Minister Pun issued three immediate directives to advance key initiatives. First, to ensure students in community secondary schools are not deprived of computer education, each school must have a designated computer teacher.

Second, some universities have been taking 8 months to 1 year to release exam results, causing irreparable harm to students. Universities are now instructed to publish results within a maximum of 3 months. Any university failing to comply will have its funding withheld.

Third, at Tribhuvan University, Kirtipur, a large area of shrubs will be cleared (without cutting big trees) to create an attractive campus with gardens and sidewalks.
