Kathmandu — The Private Secretariat of Prime Minister Sushila Karki has dismissed recent media reports claiming that Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balen Shah pressured the Prime Minister to remove Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal, calling them completely baseless and misleading.

In a press statement issued by Chief Private Secretary Adarsha Kumar Shrestha, the Secretariat clarified that the appointment or removal of ministers lies solely within the Prime Minister’s jurisdiction, and no such decision can be made under external pressure or influence.
The statement read:
“This government was formed under the mandate of the GenZ movement. Home Minister Aryal has been diligently working to ensure the successful conduct of the upcoming elections, maintain peace and security, and uphold the morale of the security forces during this critical period, which is evident to all.”
The Prime Minister’s Secretariat also urged all concerned parties not to spread or believe such unfounded rumors, especially during this sensitive time.
