Kathmandu — Renowned Nepali sculptor Balkrishna Tuladhar passed away at the age of 92 on Wednesday. The news was confirmed by his family member, Mahesh Tuladhar.

Tuladhar is best known for creating the iconic statues at Martyrs’ Gate, including those of King Tribhuvan and martyrs Gangalal Shrestha, Dashrath Chand, Dharma Bhakta Mathema, and Shukraraj Shastri. He also sculpted the statues of six soldiers at the historic Royal Pavilion at Tundikhel.

Widely respected in Nepali art, Tuladhar’s work earned recognition at both national and international levels, leaving a lasting mark on Nepal’s cultural and historical landscape.
