Kathmandu- Former Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) officer Sameer Wankhede has filed a defamation lawsuit in the Delhi High Court against the web series depicting Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan.

The lawsuit names Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan’s production company Red Chillies Entertainment Pvt Ltd, the OTT platform Netflix, and other associated parties as defendants. Wankhede claims that the series “Bads of Bollywood” presents false, malicious, and defamatory content targeting him.

The web series allegedly portrays a character inspired by Wankhede, depicted humorously and exaggeratedly, following Bollywood personalities, which sparked significant social media debate after its release.

Wankhede has demanded ₹2 crore Indian rupees in damages, which he intends to donate to Tata Memorial Cancer Hospital for the treatment of cancer patients.

The legal action comes nearly two years after Wankhede, on 2nd October 2021, led an NCB team to raid the Cordelia cruise ship in Mumbai, resulting in the arrest of Aryan Khan and 19 others. At that time, Wankhede himself faced allegations of conspiring to take a ₹25 crore bribe for Aryan Khan’s release.

This lawsuit highlights ongoing tensions between Bollywood productions, OTT platforms, and real-life individuals, raising questions about the depiction of public figures in entertainment media.
