Mumbai — Veteran actor Pankaj Dheer, best known for portraying Karna in B.R. Chopra’s legendary TV series Mahabharat, has passed away at the age of 68.
He had been battling cancer for several years. Though he had recovered earlier, the disease returned, and despite major surgery and ongoing treatment, he succumbed today.

The film and television industry is mourning his loss, with several celebrities and fans sharing emotional tributes on social media.
Actor Amit Behl confirmed Dheer’s demise to ANI, calling it “shocking and deeply saddening.” He recalled speaking to Dheer about four months ago when he “seemed fine and was even working again.”
Actor Feroz Khan shared a farewell photo on Instagram, while Raza Murad confirmed that the cancer had spread to multiple parts of Dheer’s body.
