Police said Shahi had been staying in several hotels in the Chabahil area since early September. When questioned, ASI Sharma told investigators that his police ID had gone missing during the Gen-Z protests. He claimed he did not personally know Shahi and speculated that the lost ID may have fallen into his possession.
