A 65-year-old former teacher in the UK, Deborah Franklin, has been convicted of sexually abusing a 10-year-old pupil over several years.
The offenses took place between 1991 and 1995, and she was convicted on eight counts. The victim reported the case to police in 2024, prompting an investigation.
Franklin was found guilty in July 2026 and sentenced to seven years in prison. She was also banned from working with children for 10 years after her release.
