The Pimalta–Jagaram suspension bridge in Belkotgadhi, Nuwakot, which was damaged by flooding in the Bhotekoshi River, has been fully reconstructed and reopened for public movement.
The restoration included straightening twisted cables, replacing handrail cables, and installing steel decks and beams. The Department of Local Infrastructure Development under the Ministry of Infrastructure Development has accelerated bridge reconstruction and repair work in flood-affected areas.
Repairs on 12 additional suspension bridges in Dhading, Nuwakot, and Gorkha have also reached the final stage.
