
Kathmandu: Gold prices in the Nepali market have fluctuated sharply this week. On Friday, the price of gold jumped by Rs 3,600 per tola compared to Thursday, according to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association. With the latest increase, the price of fine gold has reached Rs 303,100 per tola.
Gold prices had declined for three consecutive days on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday after rising on Sunday. The price fell by Rs 2,300 on Thursday to Rs 299,500 per tola. It had risen by Rs 1,700 on Wednesday to Rs 301,800, after falling by Rs 900 on Tuesday to Rs 300,100. Meanwhile, the price of silver also increased by Rs 150 per tola on Friday, reaching Rs 4,775 per tola. On Thursday, silver had fallen by Rs 60 to Rs 4,625.
