On the 11th day after devastating floods and landslides struck Nepal, rescue teams achieved two remarkable breakthroughs.

In Betrabati, Nuwakot, an Armed Police Force (APF) team heard a faint voice from a house partly buried in landslide mud and rescued 64-year-old Chandika Shrestha alive. The same day, the Nepal Army rescued a Chinese national who had been trapped inside the Audit-4 tunnel of the Upper Trishuli-1 Hydropower Project in Rasuwa.
