Kathmandu – Police have arrested a man for posting a fake QR code and statement on social media, claiming he had donated to the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund help for Central Nepal floods flash floods .
The suspect has been identified as 32-year-old Bhagwan Karki of Gokulganga Rural Municipality-2, Thos, Ramechhap. Authorities revealed that he falsely claimed to have contributed Rs. 120,000 to the Bhote Koshi flood relief fund.
Investigations found that Karki had used ChatGPT to generate a fake voucher, which he then posted online to mislead others. Police have taken him into custody and further investigation is underway.
