Prakash Kafle/Kathmandu . Nepali Congress has instructed leader Purna Bahadur Khadka to submit a clarification within seven days. A meeting of the party’s Central Disciplinary Committee held on Wednesday concluded that Khadka, while serving as acting party president, repeatedly issued public statements against official party decisions.
The committee noted that Khadka had earlier issued a statement expressing disagreement with the party’s decision to revoke active memberships. It also said he had previously been cautioned for expressing views contrary to the party’s official position. According to the committee, on March 14, he also issued a statement opposing the arrest of former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and former Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak.
Furthermore, on March 17, Khadka, claiming the role of acting party president, had called a meeting of the Central Working Committee elected from the 14th General Convention and conducted discussions for two days. The disciplinary committee has stated that this action has also been included within the scope of disciplinary review.
