Prakash Kafle / Kathmandu: President Ram Chandra Paudel has reshuffled the order of precedence of the members of the Council of Ministers. On the recommendation of Prime Minister Balen Shah, the change was made in accordance with Article 76 (9) of the Constitution of Nepal.
According to the new order of precedence, Home Minister Sudan Gurung, who was previously in the third position, has now dropped to fifth place. Dr. Swarnim Wagle remains in the second position, while Shishir Khanal is now third and Biraj Bhakta Shrestha is in fourth place.
The reshuffle in the ministers’ ranking has lowered Home Minister Sudan Gurung’s position to fifth. His drop from a higher rank is being viewed as politically significant. Analysts suggest that the new order reflects changes in power balance and priorities within the Council of Ministers.
Some view this change as a routine administrative adjustment, while others interpret it as a sign of internal political dynamics and power realignment within the government. With the new hierarchy, changes in ministers’ roles are also being anticipated.
