Why do women make sounds during physical intimacy? — Scientific and psychological reasons

Prakash Kafle / Kathmandu. Women often produce certain types of sounds during sexual intercourse. Although many studies have been conducted on why this happens, a clear scientific conclusion has not yet been reached. Some studies describe it as mere acting, while others present it as an expression of pleasure or a behavior that makes the relationship more enjoyable. Experts say that making sounds during physical intimacy is a normal and natural process. Research shows that this behavior is not only an emotional expression but is also linked to physical, hormonal, and psychological responses.

According to experts, when a woman reaches orgasm, the brain’s control temporarily weakens, causing sounds to be produced automatically. This is considered a natural response of the body.

Similarly, the sounds women make can serve as positive signals to their partner. It is said to boost the partner’s confidence and help make the relationship more balanced and active. Psychologists say that such sounds are a form of “non-verbal communication” that indicates which behaviors are satisfying.

During sexual activity, the levels of “feel-good hormones” such as endorphins, dopamine, and oxytocin increase in the body. These hormones raise heart rate and breathing, which can put pressure on the vocal cords and lead to sound production.

Likewise, making sounds can help release built-up tension and pressure in the body. Experts say this process helps in both mental and physical relaxation.

On the other hand, women who can openly express their satisfaction tend to have higher self-confidence and openness in relationships. This is believed to play a role in making relationships stronger and more lively.

Overall, doctors state that making sounds during physical intimacy is not abnormal or artificial, but a natural response of the human body.
