A diplomatic concern has emerged after the Chinese Embassy in Nepal asked authorities to take action over an incident involving the destruction of a book written by Chinese President Xi Jinping. The issue came to light after videos circulated online showing individuals burning copies of The Governance of China. In response, the embassy formally contacted Nepal’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, requesting an investigation and legal measures against those involved.
According to reports, the act took place in Hattimuda of Budhiganga Rural Municipality in Morang district. The individuals involved are said to be sanitation workers affiliated with Manmohan University, who burned several copies of the publication on Saturday night. The viral footage has since drawn diplomatic attention from China.
