Prakash Kafle/Kathmandu. KP Sharma Oli, the chairman of CPN-UML and former Prime Minister of Nepal, has suffered the loss of his father. His father, Mohan Prasad Oli, passed away on Friday morning at the age of 97 at a hospital in Gatthaghar.
According to hospital sources, Mohan Prasad Oli had been experiencing health problems for some time and died while receiving treatment. Preparations are underway to take his body to the Oli family residence in Gunduu, Bhaktapur, where relatives and well-wishers will pay their last respects. His final rites are scheduled to be performed later today at Aryaghat of the Pashupatinath Temple in Kathmandu.
The late Mohan Prasad Oli is survived by two sons and three daughters.
