Prakash Kafle/Kathmandu. In Birendranagar, Surkhet, a 16-year-old girl has died in a tragic incident where four young men have been accused of gang rape and murder.
According to the District Police Office, Surkhet, Inisha Bik, a resident of Birendranagar–1, was found dead after police detained four suspects, including 18-year-old Anmol Gauli, for investigation.
Police reported that the girl had left home on Saturday morning, saying she was going to tuition classes. Later, she was discovered unconscious in the Janajagriti Community Forest of Birendranagar–4. She was rescued and taken to the Provincial Hospital, but doctors declared her dead shortly afterward.
Preliminary investigation shows that the victim and the arrested youths were classmates in Grade 11 at a local private school. Family members allege that the suspects lured her into the forest, where they committed gang rape before killing her.
Police have filed charges of rape and homicide against the suspects and stated that further investigation is underway.
