Prakash Kafle/Kathmandu. Manish Jha of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), who won the House of Representatives election from Dhanusha-3, visited the Janaki Temple in Janakpur to offer prayers after his victory.
The election results were announced early in the morning, and he was officially handed his certificate of victory shortly afterward. Following this, Jha went to the Janaki Temple to seek blessings.
Speaking to journalists, Jha, who also serves as the party’s spokesperson, said he would focus on the overall development of Dhanusha and Janakpur. He highlighted plans to work on drinking water, sanitation, environmental protection, and infrastructure development through strategic investments.
He also said efforts would be made to document and promote Janakpur’s cultural heritage. Additionally, Jha emphasized developing the Janakpur Railway and Janakpur Airport into economically productive hubs.
According to him, political priorities evolve as challenges change, so development agendas must also adapt over time. He stated that the 100-point commitment outlined by the RSP will also apply to Dhanusha, while additional initiatives tailored to local needs will also be pursued.
Jha said the party would decide whether to join the cabinet after the formation of the government and parliament. He added that since the party has many capable leaders, ministerial positions and portfolios would be distributed based on merit and capability.
He further stated that the RSP is open to cooperating with parties that support its reform agenda but clarified that it would not enter alliances purely for numerical advantage.
In the election, Jha secured 43,988 votes to win the seat. His closest rival, Nepali Congress leader Bimalendra Nidhi, received 16,652 votes, while CPN-UML candidate Julie Mahato came third with 9,786 votes.
