Kathmandu – In Jhapa, vote counting has been halted after ballot papers went missing at the counting center. While counting votes in Jhapa-2, it was found that 10 ballot papers were missing, leading to an immediate suspension of the process.
According to details from the Jhapa-2 counting site, 2,425 votes had been cast, but only 2,415 ballot papers were found during counting.
Since the number of ballots was fewer than the votes cast, counting in Jhapa-2 has been temporarily stopped. A multi-party meeting is underway to discuss the issue further. Here, the Rastriya Swatantra Party’s Balen Shah had already started maintaining a double lead that of UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli.
